Best Baby Boutiques in Charlotte, NC

As a newborn photographer in Charlotte, NC I love checking out the local baby and children’s boutiques. Often, I find items to add to my collection of newborn clothes so that when I come to your home for your newborn photo session, I have a wide array of options for you to dress your baby in for photos.

Below are three of my favorite boutiques to visit. Each has its very own unique personality and style. Read below to check out which one fits your vibe. They are definitely all worth a visit!

Betty by Moxie Mercantile (Plaza Midwood)

From Google, Betty describes itself as " a locally owned, apparel and kid's store. Focusing of eco-friendly clothing and gifts, with a passion for locally made goods; including local art, authors, jewelers and makers."

You might not even realize at first glance that this store has kids stuff. When you walk in, you walk into the women’s section, (which has some really unique, fun pieces … but that’s not why you’re here right now) As you head toward the back right corner of the store you will see the baby/toddler section. This area is just the cutest. My favorite part is the wicker helium balloon that hang from the ceiling. Even though it is a small area, it as a really nice selection of organic, natural brands. Some of these brands include goumi kids and fauna. On my last visit I picked up a super sweet cream colored baby gown with a tie knot bottom and and matching hat that would be perfect for either a baby boy or girl during an in home newborn session. And, if you are already a mama that lives in the area, it also pays to know that they offer a free kids music and story time and every Friday at 9:30.

So if you are looking for eco-friendly, organic, and boho pieces for your baby or toddler, Betty is a “can’t be missed!”

Fancy Pants

The second boutique that I like to visit is Fancy Pants in the Myers/Park Eastover neighborhood. This boutique has a very large selection of everything baby and kids and teens. The clothes range from newborn to size 16. In addition they carry great baby gift items, baby shampoos and soaps, hair bows and headbands, and the list goes on. For babies, they carry brands such as Kissy Kissy and Florence Eiseman . This boutique specializes in all things classic and traditional. If classic bubble suits and smocking is up your alley, you are sure to find it at this boutique! At my last visit I brought home the softest, pale pink kissy kissy gown and a sweet white convertible piece with matching hat.

Coco Leto

The newly opened Coco Leto is located in the heart of Myers Park on Selwyn avenue. This store is bright, white, colorful, and modern. With its clean, bright style and colorful balloon displays, it makes you happy just walking inside. This boutique offers clothing, shoes, and accessories in sizes newborns to teens. This store, as well as their website, carry a wide variety of brands (such as Stella McCartney) that are all bright, stylish, and modern while also being comfortable and not too fussy. I purchased the cutest little pink bloomers and a pair of blue baby leggings while I was there. Both pieces will look so adorable on a baby during a newborn session for parents wanting a pop of color and a modern look during their newborn photo session. If you are in the area, this boutique is definitely worth a visit for your own baby or child or for a unique baby gift for a friend.

While it seems that online has become the default nowadays, there are definitely some brick and mortar stores in Charlotte, NC that are worth swinging by and checking out. It’s a nice change from the online ordering and it helps support a local, small business!
